The Harrow Young Musicians School is a British music school of the town of Harrow, and it has a special characteristic, it is a NO PROFIT ORGANISATION that supports worse-off kids, from the suburbs of London, who have a special talent for music, giving them the possibility to develop their talents. All this is possible thanks to the fact that the school is financed by the families of wealthy kids.
The result is a group of about 90 elements composing a great Philharmonic Orchestra that, according to the needs, can be divided into other groups with a different number and typology of elements: the Symphonic Winds and a Soul Band (for jazz and pop repertories), the Philharmonic Baroque orchestra (for baroque classics), and the Philharmonic Classic Orchestra (for sacred repertories), and even a choir, which for years has been animating the Mass in the Basilica of Piazza San Marco during their stay in Italy.
They have been performing in the best theatres of London, even at the Royal Albert Hall, with great success. Their concerts are unmissable.
The conductor of all the elements is Maestro Mark Gooding, but each formation is conducted by one of his collaborators, all students of the school in the past (Ryan Marshall for the Soul Band, Steve Byron for the Symphonic Winds).
